The introduction of the microphones was met with objection from privacy campaigners and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

Bridlington CCTV Fundraiser

The historic old town of Bridlington is hoping to raise enough funds to buy CCTV equipment.

Having received £12,000 and then raising another £500 through fund-raising activities, the Old Town association needs another £7,500 to meet the cost of three CCTV surveillance cameras.

Caught on CCTV Within Minutes

CCTV equipment was a success within minutes of being installed at a Co-op car park on South Street, Ilkeston.

The car park has had persistent problems such as graffiti, drug taking, joy riding and criminal damage.

CCTV Helping Police Win The Battle

Night time crime is often an issue for the police of Swindon City centre and the number of available patrol officers is becoming difficult to sustain with the amount of growing offences.

Operation Diamond was launched last year to tackle this issue.
