Underground Trains to Recieve UK’s First Microwave CCTV Technology

Metronet Rail has signed an eight year deal with CCTV specialist Telent to provide a Microwave CCTV surveillance system to monitor it’s underground trains.

The technology will be used for the first time in the UK and delivers footage of the trains exterior live to the driver. This will allow the driver to monitor the doors and platform to determine when the train has been boarded by the passengers.

CCTV Success for Town of Devizes, Wiltshire

After a year, four CCTV cameras installed in the town of Devizes have had great success.

The CCTV cameras, installed on the 1st of November last year, have caused a dramatic decrease in shop windows being broken and have assisted in many arrests.

Car Finder Technology

Heathrow Terminal 5 will be the first to trial a new technology pioneered by Siemens Building Technologies Security Solutions, called Car Finder.

The new technology will locate a car in a car park should the returning owner not remember its whereabouts. The owner can simply insert his or her parking ticket into one of the 16 ‘Car Finder’ kiosks to receive a 3D map of the cars location as well as other key information such and the exits, stairs and lifts.
