Caught on Camera: Man Trapped in Elevator
A Manhattan man was recently caught on camera trapped inside an elevator for 41 hours before finally being released.
After staying late in the offices the man went out of the building for a smoke and on return to his 39th floor office the elevator stopped in between floors.
His colleagues had already left and the only people working over the weekend were elevator maintenance men. Realising he was trapped the man immediately rang the emergency bell but nobody heard it.
Sped up CCTV footage shows the entire ordeal the man had to suffer. After ringing the emergency bell and opening the doors to shout for help he had to face the possibility he might be there for the weekend and lay on the floor to rest and fight his claustrophobia.
After 41 hours the man was finally spotted on CCTV and rescued by the maintenance men. He continues to use lifts.
