Video surveillance is suddenly “the fastest-growing market for [digital] video chip providers.”

A comment made by an executive of a large company whom provide such chips.

China, the leading developer in surveillance technology has seen a significant increase in sales for the industry. From £3.2 billion in 2005 the sales are expected to reach £9.1 billion in 2010.

It’s estimated that 90% of today’s cameras are analogue and with the recent industry change to digital and IP equipment the eventual conversion to these new systems should see sales soar.
