Camera Capable of Seeing Objects Beneath Clothing
A UK company known as ThruVision has developed a CCTV camera, called T5000, that is capable of seeing objects beneath a persons clothing for up to 25 metres.
Working on the principle that all objects emit different terahertz waves, the camera is able to differentiate between these waves and can even define the difference between visually similar substances such as sugar and cocaine.
This new technology will be welcomed by the CCTV market, especially in the light of recent terrorist attacks.
The T5000 has an advantage over similar technologies because it only scans a range of waves outside of those given off by the human body. Similar technologies are as efficient but can violate privacy, picking up the human body underneath clothing.
